Abigail's very first acrylic painting was named the Mary Magdalene 1 month after the work was done. This painting was created using only primary colors. Red, Yellow, and Blue. Abigail wanted to call this painting 'Primary's' at first... but Mary Magdalene came to mind after writing then reading the Mary in 'Primary's.' Mary Magdalene is one of the most misunderstood yet very significant figures in history. Jesus specifically asked Mary to deliver the news of His resurrection to the other disciples. Because of this, she holds the title Apostle to the Apostles in the Eastern Orthodox and Catholic traditions. Abigail likes to believe that Mary and Jesus were One. The reference to Mary Magdalene in this painting signals the beginning of love in many aspects. The mixing and creating of colors outside of the primaries represent the creative spirit within a woman of God that can bring life to an entire world.
